WEEDEATER TIPS
SPONSOR
Whether you own a RYOBI,POULAN
,CRAFTSMAN OR some other type weedeater.
They all seem to suffer from the same problems
over time.Since the are two cycle engines, which
means you must manually most of the time have
to mix oil and gas together. This mixture must be
as close to the reccomended formula on the two
cycle oil container you are using for optimum
results. It is a good idea to keep a container for
this type of fuel marked, so it does not wind up in
the puishmower or riding mower.

Carbon in the exhaust will cause your weedeater
not to perform or idle up over time, as a matter of
fact there is a screen inside muffler, called a spark
arrestor that will become clogged over time. The
exhaust port will actually close up with carbon,
causing a back pressure, thus the weedeater may
idle, but not rev up.

Leaking fuel lines, or dry rotted fuel lines,
whereby carb would be sucking air instead of fuel
is another common trouble.
Diaphram in the small carb will cause it not to run
after primed gas runs out, usually a kit will have to
be bought just to get diaphram.
Most importantly the spark plug should be
changed frequently on older models, since fouling
will become a problem.

Carb mounting bolts will actually work loose,
causing it to suck to much air, must be careful
tightening, because some will strip out of threads
on cheaper models. Also cylinders on some of the
cheaper models will work loose.
AN investment in a set of long handle allen
wrenches is a good idea before you start to work
on one. In some cases the whole replacement
carbs will be three quarters the price of a new
weedeater, although a carb kit can be purchased
for nine to fifteen dollars.
